Souq Waqif

Om du letar efter ett underbart ställe att shoppa, äta, utforska eller helt enkelt sitta på en av de många attraktiva uteserveringarna för att se världen passera förbi, leta ingenstans än Souq Waqif i Doha.
I århundraden har denna plats varit en souq för beduiner (nomader som historiskt har bebott de arabiska och syriska öknarna.) för att ta ullen och djuren för att byta för dagliga förnödenheter. Allt eftersom tiden gick började souken rinna ner och har nästan kommit till den grad att den har rivits. Lyckligtvis beslutades 2004 att bevara denna historiska plats så hela marknadsområdet har renoverats och restaurerats enligt de traditionella Qatariska arkitektoniska teknikerna. Det är förmodligen den enda traditionella souken som finns kvar i viken.

Spent the day with AMIR. From the start of our day he was excellent. Great communication from the night before to confirm logistics , he speaks several languages so I’m sure he can accommodate: He arrived early and intime at our Doha hotel in traditional Qatari attire , making the the journey extra special . The car we spent the day in was SO comfortable , fully air conned , unlimited water and plenty of character from our wonderful tour guide . He showed us the old town , throughly explained the Qatari history and was an excellent tour guide by showing us the secret spots. He even hustled with the locals to get us a fair price on our behalf . Once in a lifetime trip , you need to book with AMIR from Falcon Tours !

Hard to forget city tour

Highly recommend this tour. The tour guide Sadiq was amazing, informative and engaging. The whole experience of visiting Souq Waqif, boat ride, seeing Pearl and Katara Cultural village and everything else I asked about was wonderful and something I won’t forget. Sadiq went above and beyond to show me as much as he could and answer all my questions.

Excellent Doha City Tour

Very interesting Doha City tour and sunset Dhow boat ride with Falcon Tours and our excellent guide Ali who gave detailed explanations of Qatar life and traditions and even extended our excursion by more than one hour! We made a very complete visit to Souk Waqif and saw different traditional shops (carpets, perfumes, spices, costumes, falcons, camels, birds etc.) and tasted local snacks and tea. We also visited Katara cultural village and the Pearl island and made a sunset boat tour to see the colourful lights of the city. Excellent excursion where you see the highlights of the city in a few hours!

Our Guide Faisal was one of the best that we ever had. Very attentious and knowledgeable. Made sure that we didn't miss any part of the explanation. We finished the tour knowing everything that we needed from Qatar.

Amazing Tour

I did this tour today and it was amazing!!
Our guide Sayed was great, showed us all around Doha, explained the history of this beautiful city and goat to see Doha on both the land and sea!! Plus got to go do some shopping in the souq.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting.

Good tour; Faisal was very friendly and attentive. We got a good sense of key areas in the city. The boat piece was also fun for a different view, but not as interesting.
